Kyms Bucket List

Today's 'Bucket List' has been inspired by Stephen Sutton, sadly lost his life to cancer although being very young.  Before he passed he raised 4.2 Million for The Teenage Cancer Trust and worked through two thirds of his 'Weird & Wonderful Bucket List'.  "I don't see the point in measuring the worthiness of your life in terms of time, but rather you should measure life terms of what you achieve." "his inspiration was to offer an alternative to the bleak mean view we often have of life." A huge inspiration to everyone and lived life as it is truly meant to be lived.

Why is it that we wait until we are diagnosed with a life threatening disease or someone close to us has, that we stop living like we will live forever and start truly living? I have always pondered this question.  Just imagine right now, what would you do differently if a Dr told you that you had limited time left? How would you be living for that limited time? I am pretty certain that most of us wouldn't be living like we are at the moment would we? Of course not, because most of us live like we will live a long life, no exception, which in a way is not a bad thing but wouldn't life be more meaningful and exciting if we REALLY lived each day so if anything like this did come about we could proudly say we lived our lives the best we could?

So, here is my 'Bucket List' & I plan on achieving them all or very close before I leave this wonderland.

On designing this I was given the advice of imagining I had 1 Billion Pound and no limitations.

  1. Let everyone I love and care about know for sure I love them and what I appreciate.
  2. Have this blog well and truly informative and full of photographs for my daughters to have something of me left behind.
  3. Have happy, healthy, honest, polite, loving, caring daughters who are successful in their own ways.
  4. Achieved PHD in Psychology
  5. See the world! Visit Paris, Venice, New York, Disneyland Paris, Disneyworld Florida, Egypt, Africa.
  6. Work with children in a third world country.
  7. Work with and help children put into care.
  8. Raised money for charities I believe in by getting sponsored to do skydiving, bungee jump, mountain climbing & a marathon.
  9. Have lived a fit and healthy lifestyle. Looked after my body & mind.
  10. Fed and played with monkeys.
  11. Had my own questions answered by the prime minister of the country we call 'Home'.
  12. Bought a family home in the country, with acres of land to leave for my children, but also spend my final days in.
  13. Have a motor home (even just for a month) to go travelling in and live wherever I want.
  14. Snowboard
  15. Motivational public speaker if just for a day.
  16. Stay in a log cabin for Christmas.
  17. Be in London for New Years Eve.
  18. See Pink live.
  19. Shake hands with my Idols.
  20. Ride a horse
  21. Have long hair again.
  22. Have a toned stomach.
  23. Be an inspiration and leave something behind.
  24. Write a book.
  25. Have a gym in my home.
  26. Owned or holidayed in a VW campervan.
  27. Had a spiritual retreat in Bali
  28. Learnt the art of meditation and clearing your mind.
  29. Covered one piece of my own furniture with Decoupage
I've stopped here before my ideas get rather silly :-), Its nice to have a passion in life and mine is making the most out of the time I have got here with the people I love.

My biggest goals are the family home, PHD and the ones about my girls. In pursuit of my dreams.

Facebook In all its Glory

Add me as a friend ... Go on we will pretend to know each other, like each others whining status' and ignore the positive ones, we will immaturely attention seek about boys/men, other females, our kids and bitch like there is no tomorrow, we will stalk exes together, their new girlfriends and whine about it.  We will find out the man we are dating is married with kids and has a whole other life going on, we will reject friend requests or ponder it from our stalkers and whine about that.  We will leave all our problems on our timeline so we can wallow in the past whenever we feel like it.  We will make out like we are something we aren't, we will only make a few of our posts public for certain eyes to be greeted by it when stalking us, we will ask people to like our status for an inbox message, we will share child abuse and animal abuse posts, no matter what the photograph is to raise 'awareness' and knock all our friends ill.  We will depress the life out of each other with all the hum drums of life because we can, because this is Facebook!

I got myself a new Facebook profile, because my old one had a load of baggage from the person I once was.  I've grew up since then and if anyone wanted to read into my glorious life they could read every problem I've ever encountered which doesn't make me look that great!  This wasn't the main problem though, no, it was all of the above, I couldn't stand another day of scrolling through a 'news feed' to see this every day of my life, there's nothing worse.  It added so much negativity to my day I got to the point I hated Facebook, but I still wanted to share mine and the girls travels with my friends and family.

So I got a new one, with selected friends and left the old behind.  There is nothing more satisfying than moving on.

Larry Winget - Idol

Larry Winget - "The Pitbull of Personal Development"

Seriously this man is my idol, click on the photo to take you to his website, he is absolutely brilliant. Why? because he is one of the most honest people in this world.  His truth hurts but it IS the truth and we cant deny it.  If there is one problem with people today, it is that we aren't honest even with ourselves, we loose ourselves because we have forgot who we really are, what we truly want and what puts a smile on our face.  We are buried under self doubt, dishonesty and insecurities or to the point, fear.

Fear is an ultimate challenge, fear of being judged, fear of the consequences, fear of the unknown, fear is everywhere.  I am in the process of working through "Shut Up, Stop Whining & Get A Life" by Larry Winget, it is a national best seller and up to now it is making me put my whole life into perspective.

"Everything you think, everything you say. and everything you do matters." - Larry Winget

We are where we are in life because we chose to be here, I strongly believe this.  I lost my son in July 2013, he was born sleeping (you may have read this on the 'About Me' page), this was extremely hard for me, I have three girls and always wanted a little boy, when I found out on the sexing scan he was a boy I was overjoyed.  I went into premature labour due to an infection, (which the hospital hadn't picked up), it took a few weeks to realise I had to pick myself up and be a Mum to the children I have here but after that time until now I have been living my life, I did not give up through grief.  If there is a place where we go when we pass away and they watch over us, I decided I wanted to make my son proud, until we meet again.

My point is, I could of wallowed about that time so much more, I could have been on suicide watch blaming the world and universe for what had happened, I could of became an alcoholic, drug abuser to ease the pain, I could of completely given up on life, but I didn't because I chose to carry on to make my son and my daughters proud of me.  Our time here is limited and when I leave here I want to be remembered by the people I love for having lived to the fullest, happy, loving mother who always done her best and truly lived.

10 month later and Larrys book has become that final kick up the butt, for years I cared what people thought, especially people I cared about, I considered them in almost every decision I made until I read this...

I thought about this fact and thought about the many of times my mother said "its not about you" when I worried they were disappointed in me for something.  Larry mentions about Jerry Springer and how people go on these shows to whine and blame others, in England it is Jeremy Kyle, surely we all know about these shows and how we judge those people.  We all whine, complain and blame at times but when you really look back and open your eyes to the situations we could have done so much more.  We all have a past, we all have bad things happen to us, we all make mistakes, we all have baggage in some ways.  It's how we carry that baggage to move forward and get on the moving train of life or stay sat in the train station with our suitcases full wallowing that makes the difference.

Great book, inspirational man, intend to share what I've truly learnt when I have finished the complete book.

Greatest Motivation Quotes of All Time...

At the bottom of my home page is an unbelievable motivational video worth watching by everyone, I believe this video should be played on TV instead of adverts for a month (28 days for a new habit to form), maybe then, when everyone is motivated enough to fight for the life they want, we will have a better world...

Inspiration People Featured:
Walt Disney - Fired from newspaper for 'lacking imagination' and 'no original ideas.
Albert Einstein - Couldn't speak until he was 4 and teachers though 'he wouldn't amount to much'
Abraham Lincoln - His fiancĂ©e died, failed at business, had a nervous breakdown, defeated in  elections.

"Don't ever let somebody tell you, you cant do something, not even me, you gotta dream, you gotta protect it, people cant do something themselves, they want to tell you, you cant do it.  You want something, go get it, period." - Will Smith

"Make of life a dream and of a dream, a reality." - Antoine de Saint Exupery

"You might never fail on the scale I did, but some failure n life is inevitable, it is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously, you might as well not have lived at all, in which case, you failed by default." - J.K Rowling

"I didn't get the job, but here's the thing, I didn't quit, I didn't fall back, I walked out of there to prepare for the next audition and the next audition and the next audition.  I prayed." - Denzel Washington

"But what is most important is, that you have to dig deep down, deep deep down and ask yourselves, who do you want to be, not what, but who?"  - Arnold Shwarzenegger

"Wether you think you can, or you cant, you're right." - Henry Ford

"I'm going to show you, how great I am." - Mohammed Ali

"Let me tell you something you already know, the world ain't no sunshine and rainbows, its a mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life.  But it ain't how hard you hit, its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward, that's how winning is done.  Now if you know what your worth then go out and get what your worth but you gotta be willing to take the hits and not pointing finger saying you ain't where you want to be because of him or her or anybody, cowards do that and that ain't you, your better than that."  - Sylvester Stallone.

"Inch by inch, play by play, till were finished, were in hell right now gentlemen, believe me, and we can stay here get the shit kicked out of us or, we can fight out way back, into the light, we can climb out of hell, one inch at a time.  On this team we fight for that inch, on this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch, claw with our fingernails for that inch, because we know when we add up all those inches, that's going to make the fucking difference between winning or loosing, between living or dying.  Ill tell you this, in any fight, its the guy whose willing to die who's going to win that inch and I know if I'm going to have any life in me its because i am still willing to fight and die for that inch, because that's what living is." - Tony D' Amato

"Never give in, never never never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense.  Never yield to force, never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy." - Winston Churchill

Have a watch world, its worth it.

Flatts Lane Country Park ~ Looking for Fairies

"In every walk with nature, one receives more than he seeks." John Muir

I often take my girls out to country parks, looking for 'fairies', they love it, expel energy and get some exercise and fresh air.  Telling the girls, when it is wet, its great for fairies to come out and play as there aren't many people around. We came across what looked like a deer but it ran into the trees and we didn't manage to find it again, a few dogs out strolling, birds, squirrels, a butterfly that followed us around the walkway, which Rosie thought was sent to look after us and a big green caterpillar, "Did you know Mum, one day that will be a beautiful butterfly?" Molly asks.  We hid in the trees, listened to different animals and tried to see animals and fairies by whispering not to scare them away.  We walked 2 Mile in a loop and it took an hour, really enjoyed the peace and quiet with my girls.

Flatts Lane Country Park is in Middlesbrough, at the foot of Eston Hills, (TS6 0NN).  It has a little park/obstacle course for children, although it was wet when we arrived.  A visitors centre with a few activities for children and all sorts of information, plus drinks and sweets (01642 459629).   There are circular walks and amazing views of Teeside.  You can bring a bike or a horse and explore the place too.  Eston Hills is where the iron mines where until they closed in 1949, Eston Nab was featured in the film 'A Century in Stone' and is classed as the Lowland heath.  The hills are the home of lapwing, curlew, green woodpecker and linnet and various butterfly and dragonfly.

Great place for a picnic,  a great family day out with walking, hiking, bike riding, horse riding (if you own one), recommended in all weathers although some people may prefer sunshine. Click below to find out more.

Getting Fit & Weight Loss

The left photo is of me three weeks ago and the right one is me currently, wow. I am doing it.  So three month ago I had the 'Depo Provera' injection, this choice led me to gain two stone, yes two stone in three month! Three weeks ago my clothes no longer fit, I wore black and didn't want to go anywhere, weight change can shatter self esteem and confidence in an instant.  It was time I changed my lifestyle and created a plan:

  1. Downloaded 'My Fitness Pal' onto my phone, set my calorie intake low to 1200 and started recording my food intake and exercise daily.
  2. Started walking the 1.5 mile to my daughters school and back on an afternoon (3 mile power walk, 5 days per week), taking 20-30 minutes.
  3. Wii Fit Plus... Form Routine, Boxing, Jogging + Just Dance, 20 minutes.
  4. Going to the Gym, Tue, Thurs & Sundays for an hour each time using, cross trainer, treadmill, bike, rowing machine and resistance training.
  5. 3 sets of 10 sit ups, crunches, squats & lunges Daily.
  6. Downloaded Endomondo app and use this for when I am walking in the country side, up hills and out and about to record distance, speed and calories burned using GPS.

So then this led to a great addiction in fitness, I have now got an exercise bike for my home which I sit and watch TV on in the evening, I have also started a spinning routine, which I will keep you updated.

What I have learnt:
  1. Do not rely on scales for weight loss when you are doing a lot of exercise, muscle weighs more than fat.  Measure yourself and take photographs, I also used my clothes to fit back into.
  2. Do not go below 1200 calories or you will enter starvation mode and your metabolism will slow down and not loose fat, but hold onto it.
  3. Have rest days for your body to recover.
  4. Use creative ways to burn calories throughout your daily routine.

My weight loss goal? Two Stone.

I did not need to use pills, shakes, crash diets, just exercise and healthy eating alone, and once I seen the difference it was all worth it and easier to stick to.

Things I eat? Porridge & Boiled Egg for breakfast (Energy & Protein), Pasta Salad (Small) & Grapefruit for Lunch, Fruit for snacks, Small Meal for Dinner with my children. Cups of Tea, sucker for them.

Thank you, Be Back Soon xxx

That is Life...

Welcome to wonderland, that is life.  Our lives are what we make them right?  Have we all seen Alice in Wonderland? Good.
So why can't I view my own personal life as my own personal wonderland, full of adventure? After all our thoughts become our reality right? We all attract what we think about, talk about and do something about.  So I choose to chase an adventurous life, life shots us challenges and if there is one thing I have learnt as a mummy is that we all should love and view life as the child within...

Unconditional Love
No Judgement
There is Fun & Adventure Everywhere
Happiness is about having fun

With all our conditioning as adults how can we do this? Simple, start a fresh, forget the past, create a brand new life designing your own thoughts, words and actions.  Challenge yourself to create a life of your dreams.
So that is what I have started... I have put my big goals on paper, given myself a timeline and come up with a seven year journey.

To reach for my goals easier I want the journey to be a great adventure, I have my map, passion and life skills to get there but knowing it is going to be a challenge makes it much better.  I have always loved a challenge and if I wanted something enough, I always got it, the problem was, I always set the goals small and conditioned to current circumstances because I never thought I would be able to reach the final goal if I set it too big, I was socially conditioned and had a fear of doing the unexpected but now? I am ready and I deserve it.

We can all get what we want if we work hard for it but our thoughts are very different and create different realities for each of us.  If thinking is all it takes, I'd rather let my imagination take over wouldn't you?

So... Welcome to my journey, the greatest adventure of my life.  How am I going to do it? Treat everyday like an adventure and keep you all posted along the way.

Kyms Wonderland will be one of my motivators, please follow me, read me and comment or share, I could be an inspiration to someone.

Thank you Everyone.
